About me

Clarisel Gonzalez is an INDEPENDENT journalist, producer and social entrepreneur with a background as writer and editor and strong understanding of traditional media, online publishing and social media. An experienced journalist and content writer, she has served at online and print publications in New York, Massachusetts and Puerto Rico as well as in academia and the nonprofit sector.

Clarisel is editor and publisher of Clarisel Media and PRSUN Communicationstwo independent digital media companies. Clarisel Media produces such  niche digital media platforms as the Bronx Entrepreneurs and Business Network  and Kitty Doggie News while PRSUN produces Puerto Rico Sun . Our mission is to inform, empower and build community via media and social marketing.

Clarisel also provides independent media and social marketing consultant services to nonprofits, entrepreneurs and community groups with causes. She recently collaborated with La Casa de la Herencia Puertorriquena on the successful Women Entrepreneurs: Doing It Ourselves Conference in Manhattan. She is contributing media consultant to the Latino Leadership Institute, a growing nonprofit dedicated to cultivating new leaders in politics, public policy and community activism. She served as producer and still photographer for Bx3M, an award winning independent feature film (2015) by Judith Escalona. She also worked as media and community outreach consultant for Five Sessions (2017), a play by Jaime Estades.

Clarisel is co-founder and editor, Bronx BizLife, a new digital media platform dedicated to Bronx entrepreneurs in collaboration with Nina Y.  Cochran of CodeNYC, LLC.

Clarisel is a founding member and president of the Bronx Photographers Collaborative, an independent photo group. One of the group's main projects is Capturing the Bronx, an ongoing photography and archival project of Bronx neighborhoods.
